The la ‘ok E Ka La Hula Festival is coming to the Alameda City Fairgrounds October 31st through November 2nd. The la ‘ok E Ka La Hula Festival and Competition is the oldest hula festival that’s held outside of Hawaii. The festival is held to help celebrate different Hawaiian cultures and traditions through both group and solo competitions and arts and crafts. There’s also traditional food at the event, which is vital to help share the values, traditions, and art in the hula community. This special event is put on each year by the Kumu Hula Association of Northern California, which was started in 1984 by Ehulani Enoka-Lum. The Holiday Spirit Stroll is happening on November 22nd in downtown Pleasanton. The 2nd Annual Spirit Stroll allows participants to enjoy beer, wine, and cocktail samples from wineries, breweries, and bars that are partnering with 21 downtown merchants. The Spirit Stroll happens at the same time as the annual Magical Holiday Evening, when the streets fill with live music and special offers, to help welcome the holiday season. There will even be a special appearance by Santa Claus himself!
