Get active in your local community this Valentine’s Day!
It’s that time of year again! Love is in the air and people everywhere are buying chocolates, flowers, and cards for their loved ones. On this day, don’t forget to spread the love around your local community. A little goes a long way, and bringing cheer to the area can only help people feel inspired and grateful. Here are a few ways to show the community some love this Valentine’s Day!
- Spread the love
Whip up a few cookies or bake a cake and take it down to the local fire and/or police station. It’s easy to forget that people are always watching out for you and protecting the community. Bake some goodies and show these hardworking people that you are grateful for their efforts.
- Help those in need
Visit your local animal shelter and volunteer your time. Perhaps you can walk the dogs or spend time with the cats. Who knows? Maybe you will end up with a new member of the family (or two!).
- Donate food for families
Help the low-income neighbor cook Valentine’s Day dinner of their sweetheart’s dreams by donating delicious and non-perishable goods to your local food bank.
- Get crafty
Make your own Valentine’s Day cards to give to everyone you work with, supermarket cashiers, the delivery person, and more. A lovely card is sure to put a smile on someone’s face!
- Play a game
Hide heart-shaped candies around town and have community members go on a scavenger hunt to find them. This would be a fun event for all ages.
